A new twist

I love buying something from the store and adding a little something to it to make it my own. So when I starting the project of the girls bathroom I went with this plan. I found a shower curtain at Pottery Barn Bed and Bath that I loved. It was a thick stripe of green and white. I just think green and white is such a crisp color combination. The best part was that the curtain was only $6.99. I get more excited when I feel that I am getting a deal. I always have to have pink involved with anything I do with the girls. I went to Joanns and bought a couple yards of pink trim and sewed it a couple inches from the top. Then I had it monogrammed in pink. I think it turned out so cute!

This is the after picture. I bought this blue and white stripe fabric and sewed a cushion cover and a pillow. I made the cushion cover with a zipper, so again easy to wash!

I bought this chair off of Craigslist. It is a Ralph Lauren sea grass chair. I got if for only $300. It retails for $2400. I was so excited. I wish I had another one to make is set, but no luck so far finding another one. This is the before picture.

August 23, 2009 - First Post

This is my first attempt at a blog. I have been addicted to several blogs for the last couple of months. I really enjoy reading different home projects people do in their homes. I especially enjoy budget friendly ideas!! This is a bench that I have in my dinning room. I went to a local outlet fabric store and purchased this fabric for $2 a yard! What a deal. I only used 2 yards to cover the bench. The base I just took off and stapled the fabric. The top I made a little slip on cover. It is removable so I can wash it when my three little ones make a mess.
